Virtual Open Evening

On behalf of the Challenger Multi Academy Trust, I would like to welcome you to Kempston Challenger Academy.

Here at KCA we are very proud of the fact that we serve the local community and our vision is to create a school that everyone is proud of and one which inspires individuals, enables success and provides opportunities for all. Our core aim is to provide students with a wide variety of opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. It is this access to a variety of different learning opportunities that enables every student to make progress through the school, culminating with performing to the best of their ability in their formal GCSE/ A Level qualifications. The acquisition of as many skills and experiences as possible whilst at Kempston Challenger Academy allows students to take charge of their own destinies. For some of our students this means securing places at top universities in the country, for others it will be to obtain a high quality apprenticeship or to go off to college to follow vocational qualifications leading to successful and sustained employment. The school’s ambitions and expectations for all its students are the same, regardless of background, prior achievements or ambition – we will challenge, support and develop all our students to excel. This ambition has seen KCA rapidly improve year on year, and has culminated in not only improved results, behaviour and attendance, but in the school gaining the OFSTED rating of GOOD

As well as the focus on academic studies, we continue to offer our exciting and innovative addition to our curriculum; Challenger Diploma.  It offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and talents beyond the classroom.  Our aim is that every student achieves a Challenger Diploma award at either bronze, silver or gold level throughout the academic year.  A wide variety of activities will be offered for every student, striving for each individual to develop their skills and attributes under the Challenge, Motivation, Ambition and Team categories (CMAT).  The school offers a wide variety of extra curricular opportunities ranging from competitive sports fixtures, recreational sports clubs, drama productions, an award winning cheerleading squad, STEM events, to name but a few. Any student who participates in activities outside of school life can gain credits towards their Challenger Diploma qualification.

If you are considering Kempston Challenger Academy for your child please contact us on 01234 290900 or office@kempstonchallengeracademy.org to arrange a visit. We are offering social distance school tours before and after school.

I look forward to welcoming you to the school.

Mr Matthew May

KCA Transition Booklet

Moving from Year 6 to Year 7 is a big step for students and we work very closely with our feeder schools on ensuring that all students transition smoothly and settle into the KCA family with ease. To support with the move we provide transition days, facilitate zoom meetings with parents and staff and we also have a Year 6 into 7 Facebook page where parents can ask questions, keep up to date and can contact Mr Tompkins our Head of Year 7 directly. Please see our transition booklet above to see one way we get to know our new students before they start. Our Year 7 2021/22 Parents facebook page can be found here.
