Key Workers Notice

Key Workers Notice

Dear Parents,

Good morning!

I made you aware on Wednesday 18th March that after this Friday afternoon,
Kempston Challenger Academy will be closed until further notice, except for children
of ‘key workers’ and the most vulnerable. Many parents have provided us with
information on their job role and express their interest in a child-care
the setting being established. I will be contacting those parents today.

Overnight, the Government has published guidance for schools maintaining
a provision like ours and has now written a list of those who may be
eligible. The list can be viewed by clicking here
<https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision>.
If your job role *is not* within one of these categories, I am unable to
provide childcare.

If your work is *critical* to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of
the critical sectors listed, *and you cannot keep your child safe at home*
*,*please get in touch if you now feel you are eligible and did not
previously express this.

Please be patient as the school seeks to organize this in a very limited
time frame.

The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of
COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should,
limit the chance of the virus spreading.
