Guidelines for students feeling unwell at college and advice for parents/carers

Should a student feel unwell during college hours they must report in the first instance to the Medical Room. A First-Aider will then assess the student’s symptoms and will then contact parents/carers if deemed necessary.

Students will only be permitted to leave the school premises after having visited the School Medical Room and only then when contact has been made by a First-Aider with a parent/carer.

Please do remember in cases of diarrhoea and/or vomiting the recommended period to stay away from college is 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

All use of mobile phones is banned during lesson time and between lessons.

Students are only allowed to use their mobile phones at break and lunchtime. Mobile phones are brought onto the school site at the students’ own risk. The school is not able to take responsibility for these personal items.

Please can I remind Parents and Carers that if you need to contact your son/daughter urgently during lesson time this can be done by phoning Reception on 01234 290900.
