Executive Principal’s Welcome

ieDear Parents and Carers welcome to what might be your first contact with Kempston Challenger Academy. We hope that this website provides you with a helpful and informative introduction to KCA as well as giving you a glimpse of everyday life at the School.

Here at KCA we are very proud of the fact that we serve the local community and our vision is to create a school that everyone is proud of and one which inspires individuals, enables success and provides opportunities for all. We are in the business of giving students the qualifications, skills and experiences necessary to take charge of their own destinies. For some of our students this means sending them off to some of the top universities in the country while for others it will be to secure a high quality apprenticeship or to go off to college to follow vocational qualifications leading to employment. The school’s ambitions and expectations for all its students are the same, regardless of background, prior achievements or ambition – we will challenge, support and develop all our students to excel. We do not accept excuses and will ensure that all barriers to learning are removed or overcome.

As well as the focus on academic studies, we continue to offer our exciting and innovative addition to our curriculum called the Challenger Diploma.  It offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and talents beyond the classroom.  Our aim is that every student achieves a Challenger Diploma award at either bronze, silver or gold level throughout the academic year.  A wide variety of activities will be offered for every student, striving for each individual to develop their skills and attributes under the Challenge, Motivation, Ambition and Team categories (CMAT). Students will acquire a variety of different attributes over the course of the year, which will be logged onto an online platform to allow for their portfolio of skills to grow.  Any clubs, societies, sports or activities that a student participates in outside of school life can also be logged and credit awarded for those.

We believe teaching children to understand they can do it is the first step to success. We expect children to commit to caring about themselves and their future and we will always encourage them to aim higher.

That is the KCA way!

During my first year as Principal we have implemented lots of changes and I am really excited as we enter a new academic year with many new staff and new systems to ensure we continue in our aim to be an outstanding school.

We believe in the power of partnerships with home and with members of the local community and vigorously promote these in order to help achieve our aims. We look forward to working with you in what we confidently believe will be a successful partnership over the next few years.

We have a small number of places for students in some year groups. If you would like to consider Kempston Challenger Academy for your own child please do contact school to arrange a visit.
